Global Warming by Jordan Chua 4 Kindness

The environmental issue that I will focus on is Global Warming. I chose this issue because Global Warming is an important environmental issue that is still ongoing today and continues to worsen, if we do not do anything and find a solution to Global Warming, we may face devastating consequences in future and perhaps even extinction.

Global Warming is caused by many factors, but the main factor would be pollution. Due to harmful gases (such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide being released into the atmosphere from factories, vehicle exhaust, forest fires, etc), or otherwise known as greenhouse-gases, they basically trap heat from the sun and cause the Earth’s temperature to rise, hence resulting in Global warming.

This picture depicts a flood in Northwest United States after the glaciers have melted and many unfortunate civilians in the area will be greatly affected.
This picture depicts a polar bear in Artic which is threatened to extinction due to Global warming melting the ice.

This picture depicts a colony of penguins which are dying from the rising temperature.

This picture depicts a dying coral reef due to the rising temperatures in the sea; they are unable to grow in high temperatures and begin to die.

This chart depicts a chart showing the surface temperature of the earth from 1995 to 2005.

So what we can do to reduce Global warming? Firstly, we can play our part by trying our best to take public transport more often instead of driving around in cars. Even little things such as doing our best to recycle, reuse and reduce can contribute greatly in reducing the rate of global warming. If everyone does their part in saving our planet, I’m certain that we will be able to solve this environmental issue of Global warming. Thank you for your attention.
